MsA is a licensed non-profit Organization in its entirety and have established its standard policy in State of California operating in Northern America and the Philippines, under the name, Mainitnons sa Amerika, Inc.
 
FEDERAL 501(C)(3) AND FTB3500 EXEMPT NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION
Mainitnons sa Amerika Inc. is a 501(C)(3) TAX Exempt International Relief Nonprofit Organization operating in Northern America and the Philippines. In addition, MsA is also a FTB3500 Exempt in the State of California. All Donations are Tax Deductible.
 
~Vision and Mission
 
Being the first International Relief Organization based in the United States, geared and structured for helping Mainit - Philippines, MsA wanted to establish a worldwide connections bringing the attentions from different International Aid Foundations and Institutions helping us for our Humanitarian Aid, working to alleviate the adversity and the poor living harsh condition (below poverty line) of the people in Mainit, Surigao del Norte, Philippines. The MsA organization will also be active getting involved in non-political social and civic related, bringing and introducing new approach and help the economic and cultural related issues in this local native town.

~What We Do
 
Second Harvest Food Bank is the primary source of donated, surplus, and purchased food for non-profit agencies in Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties.In fiscal year 2010 (July 2009 - June 2010), we distributed over 45.5 million pounds of nutritious food to low-income people in need in every zip code of our service area from Daly City to Gilroy, and from the ocean to the bay.We provide food efficiently through our innovative direct-service programs (see below) and by collaborating with a network of 326 partner non-profit agencies operating at more than 700 different food distribution sites. Partner agencies include shelters, pantries, soup kitchens, children's programs, senior meal sites, and residential programs.In fiscal year 09-10, volunteers contributed approximately 298,250 hours of service, which is equivalent to 143 full-time employees.
 
~Who We Serve
 
In fiscal year 09-10, we served an average of 231,311 people per month. That was an 11% increase over the previous year. The majority of people we serve are seniors and low-income families with children.
 
 
~Food Bank Programs
 
Second Harvest operates direct service programs for seniors, families with children, and individuals:
 
  • Family Harvest provides monthly food assistance to low-income families with children.
  • Brown Bag provides weekly food assistance to low-income seniors.
  • Kids NOW (Nutrition on Weekends) provides children ages 6-18 with an assortment of food items to take home every Friday.
  • Partners in Need (PIN) provides weekly food assistance to low-income Food Bank volunteers.
  • Produce Mobile delivers fresh fruits and vegetables to low-income households with limited access to community markets.
  • Mobile Pantry delivers food to geographically-isolated communities and those with limited services.
 
We also help individuals find food assistance programs, learn about proper nutrition, and gain access to resources available to them:
 
  • Food Connection Hotline connects callers to multilingual operators who refer them to local food assistance programs.
  • Nutrition Education provides nutrition, health, and food safety workshops to agencies and clients.
  • Food Stamp Outreach helps eligible households apply for food stamps and receive benefits within days.
